Missi Shumer brings more than 20 years of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) experience on projects varying in size and complexity. She has served as the primary author and/or manager of NEPA documents for more than sixty projects for clients throughout the Southeast and Midwest. Ms. Shumer has also written environmental manuals to standardize environmental planning processes. Her aviation experience includes the Terminal Area Plan and Air Traffic Procedures Environmental Assessment for the Chicago O’Hare International Airport, Environmental Assessments for Unmanned Aviation System Deliveries for the Federal Aviation Administration, and environmental permitting for the Airbus Final Assembly Line-USA in Mobile, Alabama. She currently serves as HMMH’s Program/Contract Manager for NASA’s X-59 Community Response Testing.
As a NEPA Specialist, Ms. Shumer has significant experience in community outreach and agency consultation and regularly serves as a liaison between the technical team and public relations team. Missi has participated in legal sufficiency reviews with the Federal Highway Administration legal counsel and served as the Lead Environmental Advisor for a $2.8 billion design-build transportation project in Alabama. Her attention to detail and ability to present technical information in a manner that is clear, concise, and logical aids the decision-making process and repeatedly delivers high client satisfaction.
