HMMH supported Capitol Seniors Housing in its application to construct a senior living facility in the Town of Andover, MA. Using the FHWA’s Roadway Construction Noise Model, HMMH predicted expected future noise levels at the nearest homes from the site work needed for construction of the facility. The site required extensive earth moving and re-grading, and the scenario modeled was a typical busy day of earthmoving, which included excavators, bulldozers, and loaders working on the site, with dump trucks coming and going. HMMH also evaluated the expected increase in street traffic noise levels at the nearest homes from existing to the future Build case conditions. Predicted construction and traffic noise levels at the homes nearest the site were compared to appropriate noise impact assessment criteria.
