The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) in Atlanta, Georgia, is planning to remove metal panels in its Lenox Station since these design elements are at the end of their functional life. MARTA was unsure of their acoustical performance and any attenuation they may provide to patrons using the station. HMMH conducted acoustic testing of the station with the panels in place and under a condition with some of the panels removed to ascertain how much reduction may be occurring with the panels in place.
Panels have since been removed from the station and HMMH is tasked with additional testing to ensure predictions match what the ultimate condition is of the remodeled station.
