Noise Exposure Map (Part 150) Update, San Antonio International Airport

The San Antonio Airport System (SAAS) retained HMMH to update their Noise Exposure Map (NEM) per Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 150 (14 CFR Part 150). The NEM provides updated noise contours depicting the current (2014) and five-year forecast (2019) aircraft operations at San Antonio International Airport (SAT). The noise exposure contours have greatly reduced in size over the last three NEM updates with this last update removing a number of communities from the DNL 65 dB contours. The major reasons for the continued reduction in the size of the contours at SAT are a quieter aircraft fleet and fewer overall operations.

In light of the continued shrinkage of the noise exposure contours, HMMH assisted the SAAS in developing the public outreach process, including two final meetings/hearings.
