HMMH provided On-Board Sound Intensity (OBSI) tire/pavement noise measurement services to the Virginia Center for Transportation Innovation and Research (VCTIR) and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) for 16 sites throughout the state of Virginia. HMMH staff measured the OBSI levels associated with a wide range of roadway surface technologies and provided baseline data characterizing and comparing the noise emissions from the various pavement types in use on Virginia roads.
