Environmental Assessment, Canyonlands Field Airport

HMMH completed all analysis and documentation for the noise section of an Environmental Assessment (EA) for proposed changes to the Airport Layout Plan (ALP) at Canyonlands Field Airport (CNY). The Proposed Action included widening the runway, the addition of displaced arrival thresholds, and other changes which would allow a change in the Airport Reference Code. These changes would facilitate the potential future addition of air service by jet aircraft between Moab, Utah and Salt Lake City, Utah or Denver, CO.

Due to its proximity to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, HMMH conducted a Noise Screening Assessment consistent with FAA guidance. Our analyses extend well beyond traditional study areas. HMMH has completed the draft analysis and noise technical report for the Draft EA. Further tasks include revisions to the analyses and documentation as necessary for the Final EA.
