HMMH provided noise monitoring services during the multi-year construction period for Massport’s Conley Terminal Improvements in South Boston, MA. The improvements included the expansion of the terminal operations onto an adjacent site with the creation of a dedicated freight corridor for terminal truck traffic, buffer open space and a noise barrier wall separating the neighborhood from the new haul road. The objective of the noise monitoring was to document the noise levels in the residential neighborhood generated by the construction activities and to evaluate these levels with respect to the requirements of the contract specifications and the City of Boston noise control regulations.
