Stellos Stadium Noise Analysis

Stellos Stadium Noise Analysis

Responding to community concerns about noisy sporting events, HMMH conducted noise measurements at four sites in the communities surrounding Stellos Stadium during one evening in November 2001. HMMH compared noise levels from a football game to background noise levels before and after the game to evaluate the intrusiveness of event noise. Noise from the game – particularly from the public-address system – was noticeable at each measurement location. HMMH provided specific recommendations to the City for higher-quality loudspeakers with better directional control.
